Button Fairies Abound

Over the last few days I have received these very sweet flurry of button fairies in the post, all from different people.

The button fairy on the ATC is from a swap over on Do Crafts and is called 'The Lilac Fairy'
'Scarlett' the red/pink fairy was made for me by Susan {Mittens} for the swap on the Crafts Beautiful forum.
The blue sparkly fairy at the bottom of the picture, was a very kind RAK from Sarah {Tiggertastic} another member of the CB Forum.
Thank you ladies they are all so pretty, I love them!

Sydney Harbour

I used products from my May ScrapaGoGo kit for this LO, my inspiration came from a LO that Janice displayed in the GoGo inspiration booklet that comes with the kit.

As soon as I saw Janices page, I knew that I wanted to recreate it using photos of Sydney Harbour that I took while in Australia in 2004.

Cutting the Cake

Steve & Karo cutting the cake.

This stunning cake was made by my good friend Karen who owns Krisbekcakes and believe me the cake tasted as good as it looks!

If you need a speciality cake, I can highly recommend Karen, although the cake had to travel from Darlington in County Durham in the back of a transit van down to Wiltshire, it was packaged so well that no harm came to it at all.

Thank you Karen from both myself and the happy couple!

Brothers in Arms

Here are my 4 wonderful sons, all grown up and making my heart swell with pride.

Steve & Karoline's Wedding 24th May 2008

The wedding took place in St Andrews church, Castle Combe Wiltshire.

The bride entered at the back of the church, through doors that had not been opened for over 300 years, making this an extra special occasion!

Home again!

I am now back home after a very happy & celebratery, but incredably tiring weekend!
Much to tired to blog or catch up with the goings on with chat on the forums that I frequent, but hope to chat tomorrow.
Thanks for the lovely comments on my blog & projects in my absence!

My ScrapaGoGo Retreat & Passport

The ScrapaGoGo Retreat will be extra special for me because, it will be the very 1st retreat that I have ever been too, plus it will be Scrapagogo's 1st time hosting a retreat & I am a proud member of the Design Team.

I will tell you a little bit more about the retreat in the build up to it, but the retreat weekend begins on Friday 6th June.

In the build up Lorraine & Janice have set a couple of pre retreat challenges over on the Clubhouse & one of them is to create a Passport for the occasion. All the members have been split up into 3 groups known as Orange, Green & Yellow. I am in the Orange group, so thats the colour theme for my passport, this will contain information of the classes, along with paper swatches & times of each class. emergency contact numbers & my subscription member card.
I'm pretty sure that I will have thought of a few more pages to add before I am finished as well. I will also add my photo as well at some point, I will try to get a suitable one at the wedding on Saturday!

Whoops!

Oh dear I haven't been in here for a long time!
I have been so busy in the build up to my sons wedding, that things like keeping my blog going has gone by the wayside I'm afraid.
One minute there seemed like ages until the big day and now all of a sudden it's this Saturday. Yep, this Saturday 24th May 2008 another one of my sons will become a married man.
He will be marrying Karoline, she is so lovely and I am thrilled that she will become a Songhurst any day now. They are going to be married in Castle Combe, a picturesque village hidden away deep in the Wiltshire countryside. The village itself is owned by the National Trust and is frequently the setting for many TV productions as well asblockbuster films, including 'Stardust' starring Sienna Miller, Robert De Nero and more recently 'The Wolf Man' starring Antony Hopkins.
The photographs and wedding breakfast weekend are being held at this exclusive hotel in the Village. The Manor House hotel and Castle Combe has to be one of my most favourite places to visit ever.

Mum Retires

Although I love these papers I found them hard to use, inspiration just would not come to me. Last night I was determined to scrapbook, so I used the sketch on the back of my ScrapaGoGo kit booklet to get me started. I followed it, but added my own personal touch to the sketch, I now have a LO that I like. I love these photos of my Mum on the day she retired, Mum like myself is very camera shy & does not look comfortable on most photos I have of her. In these photos though she looks natural & happy to pose for the photos with her friends. Pleased you wore your red bouse Mum, it really goes with the MM 5th Avenue papers!

My April DT Cards

I absolutely loved the ScrapaGoGo Greetings kit for April, the MM 5th Avenue papers & die cuts were so easy to use. Soft blues & zingy lime & black in various patterns & plain sheets just blended so well together & with the buttons & felted flowers just cried out for elegance.
