Arty Girlz & A Scraplift

My concentration level has been really low this week, plus I had to use inspiration from someone else for my UKS team challenge. So, I decided to do a scraplift from the Scrapbook Magazine, as soon as I saw the LO by Meritxell Urena I knew that I wanted to use my grandaughters 1st school photo! I was right too, because I'm really happy with how it turned out, Chloe is gorgeous & she will be pleased that Nana used *Pink*
This LO is also my take on this weeks Arty Girlz Challenge. The theme over there this week is 'Doodling' I am the sponsor for this weeks prize, so I guess thats where the doodling comes in!
If you would like to win some yummy, sparkly, glitzy goodies, then hop on over to the Arty Girlz blog & take part, it really is that easy & you just might walk away with glitzy stash prize. They use a 'random number selector' so it's a completely fair draw!

Great ATCs

I received these lovely ATCs in the post this morning, from an Oriental swap I took part in over on the Crafts Beautiful forum.

Red Blossoms using wire, beads & sequins was made for my by Freehartz in Canada & Kyla made the one on the other side using a New Year money gift bag & ethentic materials from the Singapore Botanical Gardens, the black picture is actually fabric. The ATC in the middle was a made by Silver Custard as a RAK, she was the swap host this month & has irridesent fibres fused to it.

All 3 ATCs are fantastic to look at & are all so tactile too!

Thanks girls, I'm a thrilled to bits with them all.

Sunday Crop

The Shropshire Scrappers very 1st Sunday crop was a success, Sue is a great host & it was fantastic to see so many new faces. I managed to complete this LO along with a couple of others that I had to bring home to finish!

The photo in the LO was me back in 2000 'Taking time out' to reflect on things & admire the view while in Australia. I was actually watching a kookaburra, who had a nest or something, high up in a palm tree...........hmm I must hunt out the photo of that kooki & tree!

Ready QUICK

These photos were taken back in 2000 during my 1st trip to Australia. In the pictures are my Mum, Sister and nephews Tom & Ollie. Ollie was such a fidget and it was so hard to get him to sit still for 2 minutes, hence, the title. I have used Scenic Route paper from my March Scrapagogo kit to produce this LO, the only thing used that was not in my kit is the blue brad.

Inspirational News

I have just accepted a place on the Inspirational Blog Team & I am thrilled to bits, why? because, being on this team allows me a good excuse to do just what I love to do anyway, & that is blog surf to my hearts content!!!

The blog was created to showcase crafters creations, that the team find inspirational. You may find that certain bloggers are featured over & over as it's the 'creation' & not the whole blog that I will be featuring although of course, we will be linking to the blog. If you have any creations that you think we'd like to feature or you have seen creations elsewhere that have inspired you, please contact inspirational.blogs@googlemail.com
There are some wonderful creations that have so far been spotlighted, pop on over & have a look, all the creations have a link back to the persons blog.
We all love to blog hop, but there are so many fantastic blogs & crafters out there, that none of us have a hope in heaven of seeing them all so, this blog highlights some of these fantastic creations for you & maybe take you to somebody's blog that you have never seen before.

Cards I made today

Here are a selection of cards that I made today. I have used various papers, that are left after scrapbooking that I save for cardmaking, so I can't actually tell you the names, some of them I have had for a while. I have also used jumbo brads & Bazzill flowers. The ribbon is from Molly Daydream & is a lovely quality for cardmaking as it holds it's shape well.
These cards were really quick to make, but very effective & pretty!

Scrapitude LO Swap

Here is the LO that I made using Jacs photos . I apologise now for the picture, but me being me, I forgot to photograph the LO before I posted it back to her, so I had to take the picture off the web!

I was a bit worried at first about taking part in this swap on Scrapitude because the LO dimentions had to be 12" x 6" & I had never used this format before. I was quite happy how it turned out & hopefully Jacs was too.

ATCs

A couple of ATCs that I have made for a swap I am taking part in. I have called these 2 Oriental Blue!

My little box

I took part in a paper napkin swap over on Scrapitude & this is what I did with them. This started out as just a plain wooden box with a boring tin insert in the lid. First, I painted it white, then split my napkin into just the one layer, tore pieces off to fit the box. I then painted decopatch glue/gloss on the box & laid the napkin where I wanted it to be, gently brushing on more of the glue from the centre out, to avoid creasing. I advise that you don't apply the glue/gloss directly to the paper napkin before applying it to your project or it will tear. I finished it off by using sakura gelly roll pens to colour the metal lid, then added glossy accents to finish.

I have put this box forward for a competition thats running right now at Crafts Beautiful.

What I've been up too!!

These are just a few of the cards that I have been making for a swap that I'm taking part in over on UKS

The stamp of the little girl looking over the gate I purchased from Donna, take a look at her shop Crafty Krafts
I stamped the image on to glossy card & coloured it in using my cheapy chalks, blending & fixing the colours using my Stampin Up blender pen. I picked up the colour from the chalk using the blending pen & applied it quite thickly, when it was dry, I simply blew the chalk powder away & I was left with a superb tint on the card! I just love the soft finish that this has given me & plus it's quick & enjoyable to do as well, in fact I sat in my armchair watching the TV at the time!If you would like to purchase Stampin Up products, please contact Sally through her blog or via email at sallyjh40@gmail.com

The stamp on the 2 Get Well cards, I purchased the other day in Shrewsbury's QVC Outlet store. It was part of a 4 peice collection by La Blanche, they are foam stamps, but do have a rubber image plate & they stamp beautifully, I am rapidly becoming a fan of the make!

3 cards I made using Februarys Scrapagogo Greetings kit, using the uber gorgeous Fancy Pants 'Crush' range. Perfect for Valentines day cards!

Arty Girlz #23

Here is my take on the Arty Girlz Challenge #23 with the theme 'Circles'
The papers & the glitzy circle are the Noteworthy range by K&co, which was the designer used for the January Scrapagogo 'Greetings' kit!

Here is my 1st attempt at making Kitchen Roll......this photo doesn't do it any justice really, in real life it has a pearlesent sheen to it & has more depth. I learned the technique from Sue. Being trained in design Sue is a mine of inspiration & she is always enthusiatic, always happy to share her knowledge with us all at crops, as well as online. I will be sure to bring it to the crop on wednesday Sue to show you ;)
I plan to use this sheet to make a mini book cover, so watch this space!!

You make my day award!

I received this "you make my day" from my online buddy MandiJ..................Not sure how I first started chatting to Mandi I think it must have been through Scrapagogo about a year ago. Now though we are on the same team on UKS & in June this year we will actually get to meet up in person. I can't wait, we get meet at the scrapagogo retreat I just know that there will be a lot of laughs, plenty of chatting, eating, drinking & I'm sure that we will get a bit of scrapbooking done as well. Hopefully, we will be sat on the same table, along with a few other gals from our team too! So, I will be definately sending this award straight back to Mandi, because she sure has made my day for me today with this award.......thanks mate!!

I will also send to

You girls have all made my day at leat once this week, even if it was only by making me smile!
