Scrapitude LO Swap

I have been taking part of a LO swap over on Scrapitude. The idea of the swap was to email a photo to another member in the swap, & create a LO for each other using the photo, then send it back to them through the mail. There was just one rule to the swap hosted by Sandie. It was great fun & definately something that I would like to take part in again. I made a LO for Jacqs {but you'll have to wait to see the LO} because she lives in Paris & she hasn't seen it herself yet... here is the fabby LO Elaine made for me. It was quite exciting opening the package, because although I knew what the photo was, I had no idea how the LO page would look!!!!

'Time' for ATCs

I just love ATCs, they are a perfect way for everyone to make their own statement of ART in miniture & I never tire of looking through my album!

Thanks everyone for taking part & huge thanks to Sandie for hosting it this time. The next swap is now in the signing up stage, but if you want to know the theme you will have to pop on over to the forum & see for yourself LOL

Arty Girlz Challenge #22

The Arty Girlz challenge this week is 'Green'. Here is my take on the challenge!
Also, the brilliant Fabrizio is guest designer this week.

I have used left over products from the November Scrapagogo Greetings Kit, shame that the papers hate the camera and cause such a glare, but it's lovely in real life.

Cute Canvas

I made this canvas a quite a while ago now, I made it for an 'alter that' swap on UKS hence, I only now have the photo to remember it by, but it was great fun to make and one of those projects where you get really messy!!

I was talking today with
Donna, who is the store owner of Crafty Krafts and she has just had a stock of Papirloftet Stamps, they are adorable and Crafty Krafts is the only UK shop selling these fab stamps, the only other way of getting hold of them is to buy them direct from the company!

The cherub image on the canvas is called ' bride & groom cherubs' and you can find the stamp in the
Crafty Kraft online shop, I am delighted that Donna asked if she could use my canvas to to highlight the stamp!
Thanks Donna!!

Splitcoast Diva Challenge

I created this LO for the challenge set by the *uber* talented Sandie & her Mum Julia. They are the challenge Diva's this week on SplitcoastStampers. We were asked to use stamped images on our LOs, & this was such a good thing for me to do, because I love my rubber stamps, but fallen into the bad habit of only using them on my cardmaking or ATC's. I really enjoyed creating this LO & love how the stamped images look !!!
It turns out in hindsight, that I didn't completely fill the criteria required for this challenge, as I didn't read it properly. That will teach me.
I should have either created a border or added 5 stamped images. Nevermind, it was fun anyway!

I have used products from my January Scrapagogo Create Kit. The kit contained the superb Noteworthy Range from MM, the papers are double sided so you have even more choice for mix & matching your patterns & they are suitable for male & female LOs alike. As you can see on the LO of my son Steve, I have used a floral pattern, but it is still definately a male LO. So don't be afraid to give floral patterns a try!

Also from the kit, I have used the Thickers Velvet Alpha's & the KI memories Softies frames, these look great with the stamped images that I chose to use!!
Steve was just 14yrs when this photo was taken, & he is about to turn 29yrs old & is to be married this year!! Where does the time go?
This LO also works well for the Arty Girlz Challenge for stamping too!

A photo for CHA 2008

Take a look at this fantastic clock, and 5th Avenue range of papers, that Lorraine & Janice from Scrapagogo sent back to share with us all, while out in America at CHA 2008. They are out there sourcing the best products for the Create and Greetings kits for the next 7 months. The clock was photographed on the Fancy Pants stand and 5th Avenue on the Making Memories Stand. I can't wait for these to hit the UK shops.

Fun challenge from 'Down Under'

There is a fun challenge that everyone is very welcome to take part in on my friend Theresa's blog. She would like you to create something about or containing the Kangaroo, it can be anything you like, card, LO ATC, poem or absolutely anything as long as it is your own work! If you have 5 minutes to spare today, give it a try, Theresa is a great lady and lives in the beautiful NSW area of Australia and her blog not only displays loads of her great craft work, but also gives us enticing glimpes and information about the wonderful area that she lives in, along with amazing photographs.

Here is a little ditty that I put together quickly while having a cup of tea *lol* as you will see I am not a poet and I'm hopeless at rhymmes, but it was fun to do!

You know this man like I do,
and if not by name, then by fame!
So join me in singing his praises
and love all the things that he'll do
As a man he's unique, of Aussie's he'll speak

So, who was it that had that extra leg,
And tied his kangaroo down?
Who told of two little boys on toy horses,
And painted all over the town?

He's well known now,all over the world,
And, talks fondly of his wife Bindi too!
He loves his cats, his wobble board and has painted at Uluru!

In the UK he was in a great programme
about animals, but not in a zoo.
He worked along vets, who tended the pets
and cried with the owners too!

I've put to you lots of questions
and given you the odd clue,
So by now you should have the answer
But if not, then i'll tell you who?

Rolf is the man from down under and Harris the family name.
He's mesmerised children, and adults alike!
And when singing "Sun arise in the morning" hear him play on his didgeridoo!

Sorry Theresa, I think I have gone off on a tangent and the Kangaroo only got a little mention, but I kep adding bits to it! haha

Sallys Blog Prompt

With the Euromillions Jackpot being so huge on Friday (about £95million I believe) here is the question. What would you do if you had won the lottery on Friday?

Well to be honest I would probably be more shocked than most, as I rarely do the lottery! But, that aside I would spend, spend, spend.

So what would I get? well I would certainly get me a bind it all machine along with lots of wires to play with, and I would certainly buy up the entire Stampin up catalogue from my good friend Sallyjh, who is now a UK SU Consultant, I have owned a few SU stamps for a while now and I have always loved the quality & designs, but never before did I realise what a great company they are! Oh and I would also get the 'Slice' the lastest die cutting machine from MM I really love the look and versatility of that little gadget!

Of coarse, I would also make sure that my family were set up for comfort, to live life to the full too!!!

Wouldn't it be fantastic to just be able to give them a good start in life..how they live it after that would be their concern, but I would love to give them all a good head start!
What Jane Means

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

How sweet is this??

I just had to show you this ATC that my 7yr old stepdaughter Lila made for me. She was really quiet and busy for about an hour or 2 and it turned out that she was making 3 ATCs!!! I had no idea that she was doing it either which makes it all the more special awww! So what did she do with the other 2, well one is on it's way to a friend of mine (I'm sure she will get one in return) and she has put the other one in her own folder.

Arty Girlz #20

This week Arty Girlz challenge is 'Frames' This is what I came up with, I have made it in preparation of a LO I intend to do later in the year, with photos taken of my stepDD while on a riding lesson. The linen tag was attached to a new pair of denim jeans, & was far to nice to throw away, I stapled it to the negative of a chipboard tag. I painted it white, then blue and allowed to dry thoroughly before distressing & finally giving it a 'lick of glossy accents, I then put the jolees embellies & gems on while the gloss was still wet!

Aspects of ART

This fantastic little CJ was the 2nd CJ that took place on Auntys Forum. The theme I choose was Aspects of ART, and I asked my fellow participants to make a page in my album about different takes on the kind of art, that we see everywhere in our daily lives. I also asked that they kept it monochromatic as well. When my CJ came home completed I couldn't have been more pleased with it. So thank you all that took part in making me a lovely keepsake!

My fellow members were:

Page #1 - LP Covers - Myself
Page #2 - Tattoos - Leona
Page #3 - Paper Art Angie
Page #4 - Photography Julie
Page #5 - Pen & Ink Rosie
Page #6 - The Movies Jaine
Page #7 - Nature Fiona
Page #8 - Books Cat

Its Tuesday

That means that it's not only payday for me, but I can now show you some of my designs that I made for January's Scrapagogo Greetings kit. It was a fantastic kit to work with and some gorgeous designs for produced by myself and my DT team mates! Sadly, that particular kit has now sold out, but there are a few of the December kits left and it is equally as nice, and at just £11.99 inclusive of P&P they are excellent value for money.

It also means that the Arty Girlz put up a new challenge, so if your in a creative mood but have no mojo flowing right now, then hop on over and take a look and join in the fun!

Arty Girlz Challenge #19

The Arty Girlz this week asked us to create something incorporating a pocket.

So I killed two birds with one stone so to speak and used a pocket on this LO, which is the 1st entry in an album I am doing "My A - Z of Animals" that I am doing on Auntys Forum
