My big Brother

This page is of 2 of my gorgeous grandsons Cameron & Ethan. Under the photograph I have added some hidden journaling. I wanted to use up a few odd jump rings that I have had for ages, so I used my new punch to give a spiral book effect & then continued it around the edge of the LO for added detail!

ATCs

I got up this morning feeling a little tattered around the edges, with a definate cloud of 'Fibro Fog' hanging over me & a bad case of me dropping everything I touch it seemed, including the dog food! Poor Ozzie had to eat his breakfast off the floor, when the canister holding his dog food slipped out of my hand {{good thing my dogs have dried food}}

So, I sat quietly & set about making a set of ATC's with some left over Bo-Bunny paper that I have had hanging around for a while, from the Tuscan Journey range.

I have called my ATC collection 'Tuscan Overture' & some of them are available for trading!

Murphy 16wks

Oh my word, the photos in this LO take me right back to July 1997, Murphy was just 14 weeks old & everything about life was just one huge adventure for him.

I used my April Scrapagogo kit for this LO, which contained MM's 5th Avenue range, along with a Hambley overlay, sheet of Prima, a sheet of KI Memories Lace cardstock, plus Bazzill cardstock & oodles of embellishments & ribbons.

The kit, as always is stunning, but I personally found it hard to work with this month. Which means I am not completely happy with my finished LO.

I am so pleased that I have made a start on my faithful friends photos though, as Murphy turned 11 years old last week *sigh* which for a breed specification bred GSD is getting on in age. Having said that, apart from Cataracts which he now has, he still looks & acts a young dog!

WooHoo I won again!!!

I entered a competition on the Crafts Beautiful forum a while back, in fact I had forgotten that I entered, so when I received the email congratulations I was thrilled to bits!

I won this brilliant beading Starter kit from The Brighton Bead Shop I have wanted to have a go at beading for a while now, but kept putting it off because of buying all the bits & bobs, but now I have enough to have a good try at it.

Watch this space :)

The Cropadile, have you got yours yet?

I sometimes wonder if I am the only crafter without a Cropadile. I have not bought one before because I have weak wrists & stiff hands due to Arthritis & really thought that I would not be able to use it. How wrong I was, recently at a crop my friend allowed me to use hers & it is so easy to use & cuts through most things like butter.

This tool is definately on my must have list & I will get one soon!

Do you ever have one of those day??

When you seem to have been busy doing lots but, have nothing to show for it at the end of the day! Well I have had that all weekend, it seems. I have been helping Alex take & edit photos of different things for his Uni assesment, different everyday gadgets that aide the blind in their homes to make life easier for them. Crumbs, a real eye opener {no pun intended} for me, & very interesting at all the help out there. There seems to be a gadget for almost everything, anyway between doing that and battling a losing battle & wasting shrink plastic {something I haven't used before} I have been finishing off a few crafty jobs that have been hanging around for a few days, ready to post tomorrow. I did in fact manage to successfully use the shrink plastic, but it prefered the oven to my heat tool.

So all I have to show today is a few ATCs & one of those was a RAK :)
The lighthouse is the shrink plastic ATC for a swap
The Hedgehog & the Tilda are both for a swap
The black & white ATC was a lovely RAK from Caroline & it was here very 1st attempt at ATCs , so I feel very honoured. Thanks Caroline, it's lovely & it really made my day opening the envelope after the one containing my phone bill :)

Hopefully tomorrow will prove to be more productive!!!

Eclectic Mini Book

I am thrilled to be the guest designer for this weeks Arty Girlz challenge!
The challenge this week is 'Ribbons' and is sponsored by
Molly Daydream who I can personally recommend for their superb quality and excellent customer service, as I purchased ribbon and charms from them to make my sons wedding favours etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I learned how to make this mini book during one of the crops that I attend, I have decided to call it an 'eclectic mini book, because each page is different. They are made up of different shapes of chipboard, acetate, a cd rom, a chipboard frame, paper & plywood. If you wanted to make something similar, you could also use file cards, wage slip envelopes, packing slips etc. whatever!
A cropadile is a really useful tool for making this type of project, as making holes in differnt materials then becomes so easy to do. So many different techniques can be used as well, such as painting, sanding, paper shaping, cutting, and more!
The papers used in this project are Dream street's 'Hugs & Kisses' range.
Lake Cargelligo
I am still plowing through my photos from 2 holidays in Australia. This photo was taken back in 2000 during my 1st visit & I remember saying to my sister {now an Aussie citizen} "those flowers are glorious, so vibrant" & her replying "Jane they are weeds" But, they sure looked like flowers to me :)
All products used are from my supply of subscribed Scrapagogo kits. The paper was pre printed with the trees, so I simply applied glossy accents to the green berries & added Hambly rub on leaves as I wanted to keep it all simple!
I'd love to live here!!
The photo on this LO is the view to the small strip of beach, where my Sister & her family walk thier dogs. I deliberately kept the LO simple as I want to keep the focus on the photo!
Everything except the brads, were from my March Scrapagogo kit, I just love the combination of chocolate brown & duck egg blue!
Papier Mache Mask
Here is a papier mache mask that I made yesterday as my entry for the Arty Girlz challenge #29 the subject this week is Black & White.
I painted the mask white, then decopatched it using Paper Napkins & a combined glue & gloss solution. I then simply added gems & ribbons.
Right I am off to check out some other challenge blogs now ;)
Distressed Angles
Here is my ATC that I created for the Tags, Toppers & ATC's challenge #2 The theme for the challenge is 'Glitter'
Another Cyber RAK
I opened my mail this morning and just look what I found inside, the photo just doesn't do it enough justice. The sunflower ATC is beautifully painted, I think using H2O's or similar becuase it softly glistens and the beaded charm is superb. Thanks so much Sarah-Louise aka Tiggertastic I love them both so much.
Nice post yesterday
I received this gorgeous card from MaggieD it was sent to me as part of the March Card swap over on the CB forum, she also sent me her very 1st ATC too, as a RAK.........thanks Margaret they are both fab!
The individual ATC was also sent to me as a RAK, it was made by Boots the Monkey, thanks Jo I love it.
Here it is!
Here it is folks, the prize I won for the challenge I entered on the Crafts Beautiful forum.
Thank you CB I am thrilled to bits with it, i've never won anything before and I am sure that I will get loads of use out of it.
Button Fairy
Not been about for a while as I have been in the midst of an Arthritic flare up, that has completely knocked the stuffing out of me, been a while since I had one quite like this, but fingers crossed it is on the wain now. I guess it was doing to much all at once, as I normally pace myself, but I had promised I would do things and do them I did, plus I wanted to play at the all day crop as well :)
Anyway, while having to rest I have been finishing a project which is now complete {can't show you yet though} all will be revealed later in the month.
I saw these button fairys a while ago while on my blog travels, and seeing as I had time on my hands, thought it would be a good time to give them a try and this is the result. The glittery wings look lots nicer in real life, but they just look a mess online. I have my son and 2 of my grandkids here tonight, so I may get them to make some too.
"Congratulations....
To Draytonlady who is the winner of our latest forum challenge:
Make any kind of crafty project inspired by one of our online videos
She used napkin decoupage to create a stunning box that really caught our eye. We know how fiddly this technique can be and think that the results looked fantastic, so a big well done!
Well done, Draytonlady, enjoy your prize!"
Draytonlady, That's Me !!!
Just the day before I entered this challenge, I had received a large envelope of beautifully patterned & coloured paper napkins, through a napkin swap held over on the Scrapitude forum. It wasn't until I joined in with the swap that I had ever thought of using paper nakins in my crafting, but now that I know the potential of them I can't wait to get messy & try some more projects.
For this challenge I wanted to try a completely different technique, something I had never tried before, so this challenge came along at just the right time for me.
So what have I won??
I will show you when it arrives................ ;)
Have you met Maggie yet?
Sally over at Bootiful Stampz has been sketching again. In the wake of her success with the Bunnie stamps, with more bunnies added to her range, she is working on Maggie.
Maggie is adorable and I can't wait for her to become available to purchase, these designs are so versatile and are so cute that they just melt my heart.
Pop on over to the Bootiful Stampz blog and see for yourself. I know that Sally would love to hear feedback from you all.
An award
I am honoured to have received this lovely award today from Silvercustard thank you so much Claire..........what a lovely surprise & it's great to be given this award!
This particular award is not just special because friend has taken the time to send it to me, but it is a brand new award and I am in the very first group of lucky people to receive it!
Hmm, I think I will hang on to it for a few days before I pass it on to the next special person!
Toppers, Tags & ATC's
Phew, talk of by the skin of my teeth, because new challenges are set every Sunday. So, I have quickly run this ATC up for the very 1st challenge on the Toppers, Tags & ATC's Challenge blog!
The theme was 'Birthdays'
March Designs
Here are the cards I made using the March Scrapagogo Greetings kit. The papers were fantastic to work with, I loved the big bold designs and the colours are amazing.
Have I really not blogged for this long!!
I have been making the favour boxes, name cards and the table plan for my sons wedding in May. I did enjoy doing it, but it took a lot of thinking out and was time consuming. Anyway, they are all done now and the next time I see them I will have a cool glass of Pimms in my hand, so that can't be bad!
I am off to the Warrington Crop tomorrow with a couple of friends Sue & Val, so looking forward to that, just hope the snow stays off enough for the travel. It promises to be a great day as it's run by Sarah's Cards, along with Rebecca and Lianne and there are loads of names that I am familiar with through UKS as well.
Also, I had a lovely surprise on Friday when I visited the Crafts Beautiful Forum, I found out that I had won a prize on the Win an X-cut Impress & Accessories Challenge worth £107! I am chuffed to bits, I've never won anything before! When it arrives I will photograph it along with the box I entered the challenge with......
