The Red Feather for Artwork Award

I was thrilled to hear today that I have been awarded the Red Feather for Artwork Award. I knew I had been put forward for it, but with all the fab stuff nominated, I am gobsmacked to have won it!!Here is the piece that was nominated
It was made using MM acrylic paints dry brushed on to textured Bazzill cardstock, some dribbles of Glossy Accents, Adirondacks Dabber Paint in 'Pearl' hand drawn & cut mug and swirls. the cappuccino foam was created with a dab of the Pearl paint, left to dry {so producing the texture} then a light tap of brown ink for the cocoa powder. Then simply inked & painted around the outside. If you see a piece of handcrafted artwork and would like to nominate it for the Red Feather award, then visit June's blog and put them forward. June is always on the look out for original works!

Just a couple of ATCs

Love this doodled ATC, I had a fun time sat quietly in my armchair creating this one, that I have chosen to name "Tangled Spooks" It's actually one of two {both the same} but only one of them is available to trade! This ATC I created for Junes Monthly ATC challenge, which for October was the theme of 'BOOKS'
The book I chose is
The Earthsea Quartet: "A Wizard Of Earthsea"; "The Tombs of Atuan"; "The Farthest Shore"; "Tehanu" by Ursula K. Le Guin

This ATC already has a home, so not available to trade.sorry about the scan on this one, it doesn't look that tatty around the nameplate in real life, it must be the angle of the photo!

A Pretty Clipboard

I have made this clipboard to keep all my challenge dates & details in, as I have finally had enough of biddy scraps of paper all over my desk. believe me it was a real mess before I finally gave in LOL

This clipboard is simply covered in Bazzill cardstock with a few die cuts for added interest, and the OH won't pinch it because its pink, cunning plan huh?

The clipboard was ScrapaGoGo's project kit for October!

Think Monday Think ATC ~ Ophelia

I am running a week behind with this one, simply because I was stumped for idea's. Anyway better late than never, so here is my take on the theme of
'Ophelia'
which was last weeks challenge over on TMTAI best get my thinking cap on now for this weeks challenge!
This ATC will now be posted off as my entry in the

LOs Revealed

I printed the photos directly on to the Core-dinates cardstock for this LO, because the cardstock is textured it almost looks like the photos are on canvas. As I said in the previous post, I created the leaves by tearing a brown paper bag and then used various inks and paints to build up the colour, I also added some pieces of a torn die cut flower in black, some of the leaf ribbon and an acrylic tag, after painting half of it to simulate an acorn!
I created the textured border a the bottom, by using a strip of sequin waste as a stencil and dabbed inks and paint over it.
The journal tags read:
September leaves are turning
October conkers are falling
November bonfires are burning!
I hand drew nad cut the scroll from Core-dinates cardstock, distressed the edges and then used the point of one of my BG files to gently scrape away at the scroll to create a pattern on it, before adding mini gems.
The only thing added to these 2 LOs from my own craft box were inks, paint, pen and Glossy Accents.
Everything else could be found in Octobers ScrapaGoGo Create Kit

GoGo DT & Arty Girlz

I had so much fun using the
ScrapaGoGo Greetings DT Ocober kit!!!
Once again it was packed with gorgeous papers, ribbon & embellishments, plus quality card blanks and envelopes.
How cute is the thank you card below, evrything on this card was from the kit, I have added Glossy Accents to the branch and the owls beak for added effect!
I personally love this simple, yet quite elegant card
This, I think is really young and funky Christmas card and I am also using it as my Arty Girlz challenge, which this week is ~ Numbers ~

Sneeky Peek time again

This is the first time that I have gotten my hands on the Core-dinations and I have to say that I was not disappointed. It's so versatile and I am left wanting more, so I am now wanting to try the Black Magic range.
Also, I adore the felt flowers, not only do they look fantastic but they add great texture to your page too!
I had so much fun creating the leaves in this LO, I used the brown paper bag that contained the G2P's in the kit. I tore them into a leaf shape, inked them with different colours to within an inch of thier life and lightly added some Adirondaks Paint Dabber in 'Pearl' to add a touch of frost!
I will show you the entire LOs and my cards in a couple of days. Oooo I do love being a GoGo Girl ;)

I think I may have a new addiction!

I created this collage this evening for a challenge. The theme was inspired by the October challenge over on the Vintage Veranda, where the theme is
'The Groaning Table'
The collage fills the criteria for the 55th challenge over on the Arty Girlz blog, where they are asking for us to use 'Clipart'
You can probably see that there are holes punched into the side of this page, thats because it's the first page in an Envelope Album that I am making to store my ephemera clippings in. The envelopes were made a long time ago, but I had not done anything with it until now. I wasn't happy with the patterned paper that I had covered them with as it no longer fitted with my theme. So, I took a piece of wide lace and dabbed an ink pad all over it until I was happy with the effect. I've never tried this technique before, but will certainly be doing it again!

The most amazing blog candy on offer

WOW is all I can say
You will have to go and check out Glenda's blog to see what I mean, but there are no less than 12 prizes up for grabs over there. So go and check out the Elusive Images DT Blog!

Have you strolled out to the Varanda yet?

I have, and it's brilliant
If your craft leans towards Vintage, then this site is for you.
The site is in it's infancy, but you wouldn't think so by the amount of knowledge, fun and inspiration shared.
Why don't you go and take a breathe of fresh air out on the Vintage Veranda too.

I didn't win this time, but

Here is the Altered Envelope that I entered.

I had great fun creating this collage, which is quite obviously LONDON
I'm not disappointed that I didn't win, because I was up against some very tough competition.
Thank you everyone that took the trouble to vote on this fantastic challenge, that was set by Chris, on the Paper Dolls blog
I am a sucker for a challenge, and try to take part in as many as my time will allow.
Don't forget to pop on over to see who created the amazing winning piece!

Dream a little dream

Here is a LO of my eldest dog Murphy, taken back in 1997 when he was just 16 weeks old. He was a delight at that age and every day was an adventure to him. These photos were taken in a friends garden, and his days were filled as a young puppy, frolicking in the huge fish pond and chasing butterflies around the garden. He never actually harmed any, because as anyone that has ever had a young German Shephard pup knows, they are very boisterous, in a bull in a china shop kind of way to actually catch anything. Nowadays, although he has cataracts, he will still snatch a wasp out of the air with ease.
He's 11yrs old now and is still fantastic, and to date, I haven't met one person {that I remember} that hasn't succumbed to his charms.
I am very proud of him and love him to bits!I am not sure what the backing paper is called on this LO, but everything else on the page is from various ScrapaGoGo kits from the past 2yrs!

I need your Vote please!!

There is a public vote going on over on the Paper Girls blog for Altered Envelopes and I have one of my pieces entered. trouble is, I am not allowed to say which one is my envelope????
I really would appreciate you popping over and casting your vote though ;)
Wish me luck
Thanks
Jane xx

Lovely post arrived today

I recieved this fantastic RAK this morning through the post. They were sent to me by my lovely cyber friend Dawn, we were chatting online the other evening and I was admiring her cards, especially the ones with House Mouse on. She told me that she would sent a few stamped images of 'Mudpie' the cute character that you can see at the top of the picture. However, I wasn't expecting all the other fab images, or the ATCs and ribbon!
Not only that, but it all arrived tucked inside this stunning card (forgive the very poor photo, bad light) This really does look fantastic in real life.
Thank you so very much Dawn, I love it all and will be using those images soon and the ATCs will take pride of place in my folders!
